Who we are
I concentrate my practice in three areas. I am an experienced arbitrator and mediator with over thirty-five years of litigation experience. I am a panelist on the American Arbitration Association’s National Roster of Arbitrators, CPR’s Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
I also handle professional responsibility matters and risk management initiatives, counseling attorneys and law firms on how to do things the right way to avoid malpractice or disciplinary problems. I also provide ethics opinions to lawyers and law firms and conduct training for lawyers, both in private practice and corporate positions. This work is based on deep experience from serving as the lead professional responsibility attorney and then as General Counsel for a 450+ attorney firm for over a decade, where I chaired the Professional Responsibility Committee, providing real-time advice and educational programs to hundreds of attorneys on all aspects of the Rules of Professional Conduct. Serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, teaching professional responsibility seminars for many years, also strengthened my knowledge in this field.
Finally, I also concentrate on employment matters, counseling clients on employment issues, providing training to managers and staff and offering strategic advice on employment litigation matters. I am a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and the current chair of its selection committee for the Third Circuit.
I have been regularly recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers for my work in employment law. Notably, I was named “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers for Labor and Employment and Employment Law – Management in Philadelphia. I was also chosen as a Philadelphia Business Journal Best of the Bar honoree for my work in employment litigation. Furthermore, I was recognized as a Labor and Employment Star by Benchmark Litigation.
I also am a frequent lecturer and author on employment law and professional responsibility topics.
Before establishing Comisky Law LLC, I was a Member and General Counsel of Griesing Mazzeo Law and Chair of the Firm’s Employment and Ethics & Professional Responsibility practice groups. I also was a partner at three prominent law firms in Philadelphia.
I received my B.A. from Cornell University and J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
